About La Brasiliana

The history of La Brasiliana began in 1948 in Ferrara. Carlo Govoni had previously purchased several coffee roasters, which he began using after World War II, together with his children, in the family store in downtown Ferrara.

The aroma of freshly roasted coffee drew more and more customers to the shop and marked the beginning of the coffee roastery. Today, La Brasiliana is carried on by the fourth generation of the Govoni family.

More than 75 years after its founding, Ferrara remains the roastery’s home base.

From coffee bean to Italian espresso

La Brasiliana sources coffee from countries including Brazil, India, Colombia, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Nicaragua. According to the roastery, it has been working with trusted and certified suppliers for over 30 years, with a focus on traceability and responsible sourcing.

The different coffee varieties are roasted separately. This allows the roasting process to be tailored to the characteristics of each coffee before the final blends are created. After roasting, the beans are allowed to rest for about a week to stabilize before being further processed or packaged.
